In 1962, a relatively unknown young designer named Valentino Garavani showed his debut collection in Palazzo Pitti’s storied, all-white Sala Bianca. Now, 52 years later, the fashion house known for fire-engine-red gowns is celebrating its new Fifth Avenue flagship with a return to its pigment-free roots: an entirely all-white collection. Courtesy of current creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, the limited-edition line, which debuted last week, is sold exclusively at the 20,000-square-foot three-story boutique. Among the roughly 40 pieces is this baby-soft calfskin leather jacket ($6,690 at 695 Fifth Ave.; 212-355-5811), completely spare save for one red, Milton Glaser–inspired heart on its back collar.
