Anthony Vaccarello has a shiny new title to go with his slick, shiny spring collection. The Brussels-born designer has been named creative director of Versus Versace. The appointment follows the well-received capsule collection he showed for the line (like Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson before him.) According to a release, Vaccarello will design both men's and women's for the line, beginning with the fall 2015 season, and Donatella Versace will oversee his work.
"I've followed Anthony's work from his very first collection," said Donatella Versace in a statement today. "As soon as I met him I realized immediately he was the one, he gets it, his talent screams Versus Versace. I love his fresh energy and innovation and I love being surrounded by a talent, which brings newness to Versace." Vaccarello added, "I am thrilled and honoured to become creative director of Versus Versace. Donatella Versace is such an inspiration to me, and together we have many exciting plans for the future of Versus Versace." We predict plenty of thigh-baring slits, not to mention major model moments.
