Good old American-catalogue brands are getting more and more like luxury brands every day. First there was the cult of Eileen Fisher, then the mile-long waiting list for L.L. Bean duck boots, and now midwestern stalwart Lands’ End — not to be left out of the trend — is about to get a high-fashion infusion. CNN Money reports that Federica Marchionni, who has been the president of Dolce & Gabbana USA since 2011, will take on the CEO role at Lands’ End. She begins there on February 17 — will her arrival herald jewel-encrusted mock turtlenecks in sultry black lace?
