Sandy-haired tulip sprouts Karlie Kloss and Taylor Swift submitted a testimony on the condition of their friendship in a cover story for Vogue magazine. As the account confirms: This relationship is a real and natural friendship arrangement. Jada Yuan writes:

When I ask what they bonded over, they shrug. “We’re both normal people,” says Kloss.

“We’re real girls,” says Swift, who, as if on cue, drops part of the cookie she’s eating on her dress, picks it up, and eats it. “Five-second rule.”

When Taylor Swift genuflects on the beginning of her friendship-making, she says she needed to halt gossip about her dating life. With her friend-gathering activities, she “just kind of took the narrative back.”

An accomplished accomplisher, Swift concocted a new social life quickly. In her friend Lena Dunham’s words, Swift is the “the Betty Crocker of friendships.” Mixing up the exact right ingredients, in the right order, under the right heat, but in a natural, normal fashion. Karlie Kloss continues:

We’re also just normal 20-something girls, and I think you have to have people that you can be that with. You know, real friends are hard to find — and Taylor’s a real friend. There’s nothing better.

Normal and real, real and normal: nothing better than real and normal.
