Body Glitter and Rainbow Eye Shadow at New York’s Pride Parade

By

Coming on the heels of the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on marriage equality, yesterday’s annual Gay Pride Parade in New York felt especially celebratory. Grand marshals Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi led marchers — including the de Blasio family, who, as usual, turned out in high style — to the historic Stonewall Inn. Revelers wore everything from leather bondage gear to bridal veils, along with nipple pasties, rainbow mohawks, and no shortage of body glitter. One banner read “dignity,” and proud parents showed off signs with messages of support for their gay children.
