Ruth Bader Ginsburg's existence is always important. And she is particularly known for her dissents, whether she is disagreeing with the other justices on Hobby Lobby, helping protect access to abortion care and other reproductive rights, or speaking out against invasive drug testing for students. (Okay, she is also known for being one of the more stylish members of the court.)
Last night, supporters gathered to toast the Justice and the new book The Notorious RBG by Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik at the Lower East Side Girls Club, where Samantha Bee acted as master of ceremonies, and this video was premiered. It features folks like Chirlane McCray, Reverend William Barber, Wendy Davis, and Lena Dunham on why dissent is important, why everyone's opinions matter, and why you should never, ever stop speaking your mind. We're honored to premiere it exclusively on the Cut. Praise Ruth.
