Last night, Bergdorf Goodman brought out the stars for the opening of its new jewelry salon. In honor of the new space, the store created an exclusive collection of pieces made from rare Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds, all supplied by Gemfields, which specializes in responsibly sourced jewels. At the opening, Solange Knowles, Ashley Olsen, and Christina Hendricks demonstrated exactly how chic a person can look when she's bedecked in rubies at a holiday party.

The carefully curated salon features tons of luxury designers like Ippolita, Jamie Wolf, and Sydney Evan. Linda Fargo, women's fashion director and senior vice-president of store presentation at Bergdorf Goodman, described it as "both quiet and glamorous" — the better to browse rare gems in peace. Scroll down to see a few pieces we wish we could afford, or visit them in person at the salon, which is now open to the public.
