L-a-n-e-s-r-a. Spell it out. Sounds like any normal, kind of silly name that parents might give their kids to get them bullied on the playground. How does one even pronounce that? Lane-sra? La-ne-sra? Lanes-ra? It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter at all because this poor girl was named, unbeknownst to her mother, after a soccer team. The baby — it is a ruined baby.
In a letter to Take 5 magazine, Clare Smith from Blacktown, Australia, writes, “We chose our daughter’s name, Lanesra, because it was unique and romantic.” She continued, “It wasn’t ’til she was two that my husband told me it was actually his favourite soccer team, Arsenal, spelled backwards!”
Oh no. I’m so sorry, Lanesra. I’m so sorry.
