For the launch of Valentino’s Untitled Rockstud pre-fall collection, creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli enlisted the help of performance artist Vanessa Beecroft. Beecroft, who also worked on Tod’s latest installation as well as all three seasons of Yeezy, filmed and photographed 25 different men and women at the New York Academy of Art. In the mix is actress Emily Mortimer as well as her husband, Alessandro Nivola, plus, in true Yeezy-style, street-cast models mixed in with your standard models.

Standing or sitting stoically in a set filled with wooden beams, the clothes are the pared-back neutrals you’ve come to associate with Beecroft’s work. The collection consists of sleek trench coats and turtlenecks, as well as trousers just for the men. Inspired by the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi (the idea that nothing is perfect), the wardrobe basics feature only the slightest stud detailing. Should you be interested, they’ll be available in limited amounts with each piece coming in a numbered canvas satchel that ranges from 1 to 12. But if you would rather just see the entire concoction in real life, Bergdorf Goodman will have a window display plus an installation on the second floor until May 19. And if you’re too lazy to move, you can just watch the video below.
