Outfit of the Week: A Jumpsuit and Sandals

There are two easy ways to look pulled together when the temperature outside feels like it’s hit 100 degrees — plus humidity. The first is the trusty caftan, especially if you add some interesting jewelry to dress it up. The second solution? A chic jumpsuit with unusual details like this wrapped style by 3.1 Phillip Lim. It’s not only the perfect uniform during the colder months; the style also comes in handy when it’s hot enough that you want the least amount of fabric touching your body.

Worn with platform sandals to give it some height and length, this look is appropriate for any creative work environment — even with the tiniest sliver of midriff showing. Rather err on the side of caution? For a similar look try a striped strapless jumpsuit and add a jacket for the office. It’s probably freezing in there anyway.

i. JUMPSUIT: 3.1 Phillip tie-top jumpsuit, $695 at 3.1 Phillip Lim stores; for a similar look, try 3.1 Phillip Lim jumpsuit in navy, $695, Shopbop, Club Monaco striped strapless jumpsuit, $289, Club Monaco, or Mango striped cotton jumpsuit, $69.99, Mango

ii. SANDALS: Loeffler Randall Ines lace-up clog, $395, Loeffler Randall; for a similar look, try Zara lace-up flat sandals, $49.90, Zara, Seychelles Forward platform wedges, $100, Anthropologie
