Donald Trump Described Female Apprentice Contestants by Their Breast Size

Despite claiming to “cherish” them, Donald Trump has never seen women for what they are: human beings. Instead he has a long history of treating them — especially the ones he finds attractive — as objects. The presumptive GOP nominee hasn’t exactly toned things down since hitting the campaign trail (far be it from Trump to attempt to appeal to 50 percent of the voting population), so it comes as no surprise that in his days working on The Apprentice, he was just as much of a misogynist as he is now.

In a quest to uncover the real Trump, Slate’s Seth Stevenson interviewed several former Apprentice crew members about their onetime boss. One crew member told Stevenson about the time Trump hit on his 28-year-old then-girlfriend, who was a production assistant on the show: “He made a comment about her, knowing that he was mic’d and that we’d all hear it. He said, ‘Who’s that hot little girl running around?’” He went on, “He was always very open about describing women by their breast size.”

Another midlevel producer told a similar story:

He would talk about the female contestants’ bodies a lot from the control room. We shot in Trump Tower, the control room was on the seventh floor, and he walked in one day and was talking about a contestant, saying, ‘Her breasts were so much bigger at the casting. Maybe she had her period then.’ He knows he’s mic’d and that 30 people are hearing this, but he didn’t care. That’s kind of him.

Yet somehow, despite literally objectifying them into a microphone for years, Donald Trump insists there’s no one — no one — better for women than Donald Trump.
