Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato are only a few days into their tour for “Future Now,” which kicked off last week with the help of guest performers like T.I. and Migos.

But on Saturday night, the touring duo was joined by the soulful singer Andra Day for a different kind of performance: an emotional tribute to honor the victims of the Orlando shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida last month.

To start off the tribute, Lovato introduced a man onstage she referred to simply as “Hank,” who led the audience in a group prayer for victims of the shooting. In June, 49 people were killed after Omar Mateen opened fire inside Pulse nightclub, one of the local safe havens for the LGBT and Latino community. They also remembered Christina Grimmie, the former “The Voice,” contestant, who was also shot and killed last month in Orlando during a meet-and-greet with fans.

Jonas and Lovato were then joined onstage by the soul singer, Andra Day, for a joint performance of her empowering anthem, “Rise Up.”

The song was striped down to the piano and vocals. As Day sang, Jonas and Lovato joined in and the names of the victims in the Orlando shooting were displayed on the screen behind them, according to E! News. The words “Orlando,” were also shown in the colors of the rainbow.

Staff members from Pulse got a close-up view of the night’s dedication.
