Some typical activities that pair well with sunbathing are reading, sleeping, and snacking. But in the case of Swedish police officer Mikaela Kellner, she can add “arresting a suspected thief all while still wearing a bikini” to her list.
In an Instagram caption paired with a photo of herself pinning down the alleged robber, she wrote, “my first intervention while wearing a bikini during my 11 years as a police officer.”
Kellner told Swedish news source The Local that she was off-duty and sunbathing with friends when they were approached by a man selling newspapers. When he left, one of their cell phones was missing, so Kellner quickly chased after him.
And her attire had no bearing on how she dealt with the situation. As she told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, “If I had been naked I would have intervened as well.” How very Swedish of her.
