Nobody Has Ever Been More Nervous Than Aly Raisman’s Parents at the Olympics

Twenty-two-year-old Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman is probably nervous before going into a competition, but likely not as nervous as her parents are when they watch her compete. The Raismans — who were incredibly animated in the stands at the 2012 London Games — brought their A-game to Rio while watching their daughter on the uneven bars. Their routine includes tightly gripping each other, covering their eyes with their hands, and quietly muttering words of encouragement: a perfect 10 all around.

Other historical winners in this category include your parents at that third-grade rec soccer game, and again at your eighth-grade oboe recital.
