Fernanda Santos, the Phoenix bureau chief for the New York Times, took to Twitter on Thursday to detail a racist encounter she experienced in her home state of Arizona. She wrote:

Santos’s experience is just one of many incidents of racially motivated violence and hate speech people have chronicled in the days since Trump’s election.
