Lam began his career at Michael Kors, and his designs manifest Kors’ desire to reinvent American sportswear without making it too scary or directional. Since his 2003 debut, the CFDA-award winner has mastered precise silhouettes with soft, womanly leanings and a subtle seventies homage. Lam also designs a resortwear collection that brings his love of classic shapes and pretty patterns to sundresses and silk robes.
