Had Roberto Cavalli been handpicked to design costumes for The Great Gatsby, the film’s wardrobe would have looked pretty similar to his spring 2014 collection. The eccentric designer celebrated old Hollywood glamour with a romantic twist, injecting colors like silver, blush pink, and seafoam green to his delicate dresses already covered tastefully in dripping tassels, intricate beading, and fur stoles. Loose caftans, tailored jackets, and sweeping maxi dresses also added to the theme. Still, Cavalli remained loyal to his insatiable love for prints – this time, devoting all of his attention to python.
