With the opening strains of Jeffrey Lewis & The Rain’s “WWPRD (What Would Pussy Riot Do?)” blaring from the speakers, it appeared that Marc by Marc Jacobs was going to take a political stance this season. But what emerged from backstage were looks that seemed ready to take bedroom wear into the real world, albeit ones made for the kind of people who wake at 5pm before heading out to rock. Satin blazers and matching pants in an array of pastel hues for both men and women were all sensibly paired with sneakers. Long sequin dresses that hit mid-calf along, a healthy dose of lurex, along with a series of star pieces added further glamour to the boudoir meets rocker collection. To finish it off, the girls were given electric blue lids on otherwise bare faces. Silk scarves were looped around the neck to pull the otherwise messy hair back, as if she couldn’t be bothered to tie a real ponytail.
