As a contrast to his stark black and white fall collection, Alexander Wang’s spring vision for Balenciaga was filled with lightness and air. Opening with a woven and perfectly sculpted motorcycle jacket and miniskirt combination, the pieces combined the house’s classic silhouettes with Wang’s youthful sensibilities. Crop tops continued to be popular before segueing into pretty pastel separates along with tuxedo-inspired coat dresses. Graphic botanical-inspired prints, kaleidoscope-like florals, and abstract bug embroideries added pattern to the palette. Ruffled dresses with carefully molded satin waves and sheer candy-colored cocktail pieces were all possible red-carpet friendly highlights. Center parted, slightly messy hair was tucked behind the ears while natural makeup kept the focus on the clothes.
