It's less than an hour from North Jersey, so Garden State residents can take advantage of discounted Thursday-night tickets ($5 instead of $7), and still get enough rest for work the next day.
Where to Go Nearby: To kill an afternoon before seeing a movie, the Galleria at Crystal Run shopping mall is just five miles away.

Becky’s Drive-in
4548 Lehigh Dr., Walnutport, Penn.; 610-767-2249
Yes, it’s a couple of hours outside the city, but its preference for family-oriented films is great for kids. Parents, meanwhile, will appreciate special events like August's Corvette roundup and October's car show.
Where to Go Nearby: Ride coasters with the family at Dorney Park, or bring a bathing suit for the attached water park, Wildwater Kingdom.
