Some things
about summer in New York never change: hefty electric bills, hellish
commutes in scorching humidity, the weekend exodus. So what's special
about summer 2001? For starters, the A.C. will be pricier (when
you can get it), the commuters less plentiful (at least in the dot-com
sector) and the weekend gallivanting scaled back (did we mention
