Best of New York Food 2004

Best Service

  • Lever House

    390 Park Avenue, 212-888-2700

Lever House’s debut garnered almost as much media attention as the Martha trial, yet the staff never betrayed an ounce of hesitation, lack of nerve, or loss of humor. Amid all that scrutiny and the constant changes in the menu (the food, by the way, has gone from good to gotta-have-it), the staff has proved just what a professional, personable, and (very) good-looking group of servers is worth when it functions unflappably, informatively, and with an acute awareness that it’s ultimately the customers who should feel fabulous, not them.
