At this specialty store given over to tabletop war games, kids from 12 to 50—usually of the male persuasion and bored by video games—can start a collection of Warhammer 40,000 science-fiction figures, or the original Warhammer, a medieval fantasy, or any of twelve different strategy-oriented game systems. You can assemble models, paint, build sets, and play—Warhammer, the most popular game, is a hybrid of chess and Risk, only with cooler pieces. A starter box with a squadron to customize is about $50, paint extra. On Sunday there are megabattles in the store where all the models are released from the cases and guests play huge games. There are free painting workshops Monday through Friday at 2:30.
