Guillermo’s owner, William Molina, is that rare stitchmaster who is also a gifted pattern-maker and designer, and there’s almost nothing in tailoring or dressmaking that he won’t tackle (his interpretations of runway showstoppers are uncanny). But that’s not all this clothing doctor will do for you: Molina makes house calls (for a minimum of $50 in work). For simple repairs and alterations like trouser adjustments and skirt hems, he offers same-day service. Hems start at $20 for trousers and $35 for skirts. Relining a suit jacket might cost $150. Same-day service costs double.

Where can you find the city’s top dog groomer? Last-minute tailor? Beef tongue? We eat, drink, dance, shop, shvitz, and trampoline our way around the city, not to mention poll scores of in-the-know colleagues, hard-partying friends, opinionated family members, and, this year, a team of guest expert bloggers to bring you answers to all of the above questions, and hundreds more, in the form of our annual “Best of New York” issue.
