There’s only a smattering of name-brand stuff here from
Nike, Sketchers, New Balance, and Keds (from $20). The real
reason to come is the large selection of well-priced Stride
Rite-label shoes. A leather baby bootie with a scalloped top
line (from $41) is a stylish choice for wobbly toddlers.
This cheery chain store has gotten more fashionable over the
years. Expect to see stylish twists on classic shoes, such
as zebra-print Mary Janes with lime green straps ($24) and
faux-shearling powder blue snow boots ($36).

find a terrific selection from Elefanten, Jumping Jacks, Aster,

by Elefanten and Babybotte ($32–$80) to the Primigi
Italian collection ($45–$75), up to size-7 kids’
shoes. There are some great French fashion-forward styles
here, including chic little Mod 8 shoes ($60–$90).

hip-hop music blaring. Standouts this year: house-brand leather
