Sports Center - working out as an athlete (or trying to be one) the SC allows one to be that with classes and fitness equipment galore to fit anyone's needs. The huge space makes me feel open and relaxed as soon as I step in and can get "lost" in my own workout. Even if its crashing on the couches for a pre-game nap before an ice hockey game at Skyrink. I find I can try so many things to always keep my workouts fresh. I can run the 400m track or rehab a shoulder injury with slow, arm circle laps at the pool. Then take a jump rope class or dance away to a hip hop beat. I started yoga here and kayaking! If variety is the spice of life - then the Sports Center has it and more.

The Sports Center at Chelsea Piers is a playground for adults. I moved to the city two years ago and never imagined that I'd find a place in New York City with so much to offer. When I'm at the Sports Center, it's easy to forget that I'm even in the city. They have a 400-meter indoor track, 200-meter banked competition track, sand volleyball court, swimming pool, hot tub, boxing ring, rock climbing wall, two sundecks, and so much more. I'm probably one of the few people who looks forward to going to the "gym."
