I saw Mike Doughty here and had a fantastic time. Mid-sized space in which everyone has a good view of the stage. Good, warm acoustics. Friendly crowd. Two uncrowded bars. Reasonable ticket prices. For me, this is one of the better smaller venues in NYC.

This is a pretty and comfortable place to hear music, but they are highly dishonest. We were overcharged by close to $100, and as we were a group we didn't notice it until we left and discussed the price and who ordered what. We were charged about $40 for each glass of wine, that should have been $9. Maybe they they billed us for 3 bottles instead of glasses, and it was an honest mistake, but we have been fighting this for close to a month with the manager, and still no refund.

The Silly person with the first review must not have even gone to highline cuz the door people wear black/dressy outfits...and last time I checked most bartenders pour drinks not the cocktail servers unless its just soda. You were probably in brooklyn. Anyhow, Highline could have the sickest sound system in the city with seasoned staff, I hear the issues with a lackluster waitstaff. But hey Nokia is pretty sterile but that leaves the focus on the artists performing. With great acts and killer production who needs more. By the end of the night drinks flow..if you cared about prices why be in NYC anyway. Highline Rocks.

I know some nasty attitude is to be expected around the Meatpacking district, but when one shows up with a paid ticket to see a concert, some politeness should be in order. The bouncers try to look really tough by sneering at people, and worse even, the usual guy with the clipboard and the skinny jeans inside treats the people who have paid for their tickets like they are begging to get into Lindsay Lohan's private party, which is probably where he would like to be. Inside, it doesn't get much better. Grouchy waitresses pour watery drinks, and the sound is pretty bad unless one is literally sitting on the stage. We went to see a performance by three djs, among them Moby, and even though the show was scheduled to start at 9.30 Moby didn't show up until 1.30. This last bit might not be the venue's fault, but after a whole night of being treated like crap it sure didn't help.
