My favorite museum

A favorite museum. I never tire of the permanent collection. One of my favorite things to do is to walk through the fifth floor. Recent shows from William Eggleston to Georgia O'Keeffe have been critically acclaimed, whilst lobby gallery exhibitions continue to bring in impressive contemporary talent. A manageable, delightful museum trip every time. I am looking forward to the upcoming Roni Horn exhibition.

Disappointing / high school

Well, I was ready to enjoy my first visit to the Whitney and was going to trade an hour or two of precious NYC time for some Calder, O'Keefe and Hopper. They are having their Biennial and it is awful, boring ( all negative adjectives here). The aforementioned items of interest amounted to 5th floor/one Edward Hopper. So sad...save the $ , go to the galleries or to DC and Philly where quality is there for free or "what-you-wish". I heart NY but this was bad.

Whitney..Save Your Money..Don't Go

This museum was dull, dirty, unexciting and RIDICULOUS. I know that avant garde and modern is new and exciting but really, this museum is on it's last legs. We were charged 15 dollars each to see some lovely Hoppers and a Jasper Johns... OK. But videos of people doing stupid things, old, worn out plastic food...like what kids do in school...glass partitions around a room with mirros? Give me a break. One of the greatest disappointments in NY.
