Like old time NYC, has a retro vibe, places like this in NYC are disappearing, I hope it's around forever and never upgrades. A great place for a down and dirty drink or dance binge....

Bar 13 unlucky bad place

All these other people must have been talking about a different bar. I went here for a friends birthday and she had arranged for open bar and all that other event type stuff. We got there early to take advantage of this only to be ignored by the bartenders for the first 3 hours we were there. It wasn't even busy, there might have been 25 people in the whole bar. The DJ ignored all song requests. At the end of the night while disputing my bill, another customer, who did not know me, called me a "Jew" as an insult. I reported this to the manager, who also blatantly ignored me. Then, while he was still standing in front me, I made a comment about how rude the "Jew" comment was, only to then be screamed at by one of the bartenders, who proceeded to call me "anti-semitic" and "fat." Maturity at it's finest. The manager did nothing to stop this, either. I'd say if you like to be treated poorly, this is the perfect place to go! If I could give this place 0 out of 10, I would have.

The drinks are always strong and inexpensive, the bartenders are always friendly. I love to be able to go to a place that transforms its atmosphere from day to day. You can catch me on mondays listening to poetry and on the flip side shaking my tail feather on weekends. The mix of people range from 20 something's to NYC socialites, gay, straight, whatever; the feeling of a friendly neighborhood bar and a night club that belongs no where but NYC is not only awesome but the reason why it is MY go to HOT SPOT. An added bonus is the out door roof top lounge that is not only romantic but artfully done with modern decor and bar in the spring and summer. Who can ask for more? a cocktail, good music and the NYC sky!

2 indoor floors each with its own DJ, dance floor, bar and lounge PLUS a rooftop area with a bar and seating areas. Everyone that works here is always super friendly and both staff and customers are untypically attitude free.

But this place rocks!! It reminds me of the LES before it got yuppied out. Great barstaff, great customers, you can get drunk off your face, and be loved the next time you come. Fun and dangerous; just like a bar should be! Be warned, do not bring any HM chicks.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
