I have attended hundreds of private events over the years for work, and 230 fifth stands out from the different venues I have been too. Their management are very attentive and their sales team are on top of it. Some of the things that make this place stand out in my mind are the following: 1. They offer a lot more food then most venues. 2. Food portions are substantially larger. 3.Food is fresh and doesn't taste catered but restaurant quality. 4 Their drinks and bar selection have always been top shelf and don't try to sell you additional product for additional costs. 5.Private event staff are not your typical 60 year old lovely men and women you find in hotels. They are young vibrant , attentive and attractive. I have been here for over a dozen events and thought its about time I share my positive experiences at 230 fifth
Great happy Hour

Love the fact that this place as a great early crowd on Thurs/Fri and even Saturdays. Very few lounges in the city that are packed early on a Saturday night. Always a great mix of people. It has its share of tourists I personally think they are great to talk to and learn about where they from.

line moves fast , amazing views and def hot crowd

230 fifth is very interesting. Its larger than your average lounge or rooftop. It has two floors one is completely indoors and the other is completely outdoors. The crowd is a mix of native New Yorkers and People from around the globe. I have been coming here for years and noticed they managed to keep the quality of of people upscale. It all depends on the day of the week you visit. The vibe changes every day or hour. Its amazing how when I'm here on Sunday evening or a Wednesday evening how the vibe is just different and Fri Sat turns into a full throttle nightclub. The drinks and food are priced similiar to any upscale venue in NY. The service is friendly it can be slow at times depending on whats going on. The views are really amazing and if you ever want to show off NY this is def the place to do it. The doorman is consistent and friendly. Its the kind of place that the music is just right to have a conversation and get to know someone or meet someone new. Figured I have been here over 30 times it was time to add my two cents

Have been here many times in the warmer season and figured I would give it a shot in March. I came with a party of 4 we didn't wait more than a few minutes at the door. The staff seemed very relaxed and welcoming with no attitude. (except for some ghetto women that wanted to come in, they looked scary glad they were denied) When we arrived on the 20th floor we were very surprised how busy and the high energy the place had. We made it to the bar ordered a round of drinks and the girls began dancing immediately. The outdoor area was pretty busy as well but little to cold to spend the night outdoors. So we stayed in the indoor portion most of the night. Crowed was very nicely dressed. Its really a mix. We saw some cougars dancing they were dressed to kill. We ran into Dr RAY from Beverly hills, we chatted and danced with him. Over all great experience even when its not 75 degrees. We will be back before summer for sure!

This place is awesome. Only been there on fridays and saturdays during warm weather. If you're a single guy, you'll be in heaven. Tons of hotties. The door guy is picky for a reason; keep out the riff raff and control the amount of guys so it doesn't turn into a pirate ship. Drink prices? Watever, if I wanna drink cheap, I'll drink at home. Music is 80's once in a while you hear a good song. and it seems like every weekend has the same sound track. lighting inside is bad too and the dancefloor is wayyy too small not official one either . Guys, make sure you wear a blazer or collared shirts and no sneakers duhhh. Also, get there at a normal time not 3am after you have been out all night because unless you know the door guy you're not getting in after 3 am if your a bunch of dudes with classy eyes. Over all great pick up spot!
give it a shot

Okay, I do have mixed feelings on 230 5th. First of all, the rooftop lounge is amazing...the view is incredible and the club actually provides Snuggies and heat lamps while you sit outside so you won't freeze your ass off. However, it is always crowded on weekends and takes a while to get a drink. So stick with the weeknights if you don't want to deal with the crowds!

I've been here only once in the winter time but am dying to go back. This is a really nice, chic place to have after work drinks. I really enjoyed their coconut mojito and romli sliders. I also enjoyed the view. The 230 Fifth lounge offered an excellent view of the Empire State Building as well as the chrysler. The patrons were chic and trendy business people. Hope to go back soon in the spring!
great even in the winter

I have not been to the rooftop since last summer and figured would see what its like in the winter time. I came with a guy friend about 12am, 2 minute wait at the door. The place was packed with really beautiful people dressed up. ( I did notice the bouncer turn away some guys for wearing t shirts) The DJ played a mix of house, pop, top 40's. Although there is no dance floor people were dancing near their tables and in the isles, Drinks are typical for any upper class new york lounge bar or whatever this fantastic place is. Inside is a little weird with all the different colors. However, the view does make it really sexy. I found the place to have a lot of different walks of life. people from all over the world, NJ , NY , CT and all the way from Japan. Its a really chill place crowd being so diverse makes it a fun and not stuck up clingy type of place. In short, reason for writing this review was to share my Winter experience at 230, It really was cool even in the cold since they have the inside area which is pretty big. Will def be back next week
