Fantastic bar with stunning views. One of the best New York experiences I've had over several trips in the past 6 months - definitely worth a visit if you're from out-of-town.
view makes it worth it

Awesome place with a view for 1 or 2 drinks max. The views are worth it, but not for all night. come early no lines. During weeknights much more relaxed.

230 5th is an interesting place. The crowds vary from cougars, wall street financiers, to young party goers. I love to take people from out of town to this place, because the rooftop has an absolutely gorgeous view of the Empire State building, as well as the lounge. I do recommend that warm apple cider drinks during the winter time and any drink on the roof on a warm sunny day. Cover is Free, Guys traveling in large groups should get bottle service, or should get some dates, Ratio here is very good

Guys are def dressed up (as well as the women) and they are hot. The views are something to def come to this place for.

What a spectacular place to have a stylish NYC night out. The roof deck of this bar is ENORMOUS and worth it for the views you have a direct view of the empire state building. I recommend you sit on the western deck for the best views. you get incomparable views of NYC in a sleek, ultra stylish lounge. I have personally met the owner and he is down to earth and takes care of his clients. If you have the opportunity to go to a private event there-do it! the staff is exceptionally attentive to detail and will make every penny you spend worth it. I have attended many private functions over the years and always left an event hungry. However, not at this lounge! It offers more food than the guests can handle. This will be the 4th function my company has hosted at this venue and each time they were amazing. I know its sounds like im in love with this place but its true. The mgt and ownership is really on top of it and pay attention to detail. Highly recommend 230 FIFTH as one of NYC's premiere outdoor bar scenes.
great place even in winter

I haven't been here since the summer, came by for the first time in the winter, and place was very busy witha good vibe. No cover and there are great views of the city! Drinks are pricey however - and wish more people would dance, because the music is pretty decent.

Came by Saturday night after hearing great things about 230 fifth lounge. And to my surprise they were right on about the place. We came with a pretty even ratio (2 girls , 3 guys) we didn't wait more than a few minutes (felt longer because it was very windy) They didn't charge us a cover and offered a complimentary coat check! I can't remember the last time any lounge/club didn't charge for coat check (very nice touch) Rode the elevators to the top floor (think its on the 20th) Place was packed with a nice looking crowd. Have to admit I kept an eye on the guy I was with because there were a lot of hot girls. We checked out the outdoor terrace, was very windy we stayedin the penthouse portion. Just seemed like a laid back vibe with good energy. I think I may have my birthday party here.

I went here strickly based on what I read about it; the view being one of the best in NYC, and it definetely was. Shame I discovered this rooftop lounge when it was cold. It looks like it would be a great place to come in the summer time when the weather is nice to sit outside and take in the glory that is NYC. I will definetely be back
what a view
