I have lived in New York City my whole entire life....and I must say Angel's Share is the BEST BAR in New York City. It has a laid-back feel to it, with a touch of sophistication. It has been around for a while--Currently, there are so many bars trying to imitate Angel's Bar, but there is no comparison. The bartenders are professionals, and make absolutely amazing original cocktails. It is such an intimate place, it is a place to go for a date, or with close friends (you have to be a 4 person maximum party, which is quite nice since so many people want to go here!!!) I highly recommend this place--YOU MUST GO!!!!

... but anyone who gives the place less than a 10-point-rating has no taste or is employed by a competitor. Angel's Share is a breath of fresh air among bars in New York. Consistantly the best atmosphere, cocktails and the most fun I've had watching a bartender mix, shake and stir. Zagat got it right, it most definitely deserves its "award of distinction." Dont believe otherwise, you will surely be missing out!

Its a private, lounge bar and the atmoshpere is very elegant. Basically everyone I know thats been to the bar loves it. Its great for a date or for small groups, and the drinks are fabulous. One thing is that its pretty hard to get seats and there is usually a rule of 4 or less people. So I would recommend getting there early. The bartenders are excellent, all of them have a lot of experience especially the manager, Shin. I highly recommend everyone trying this bar at least once and you can't miss their huge painting above the bar. Not to mention the food is great and goes with the drinks well. (try the resturant next door also) One last thing, this bar was RANKED NO. 1 in ZAGAT which I think means a lot. If you don't try it you'll regret it.

Everyone's on their best behavior at Angel Share. The bartenders, waiters and patrons follow rules of etiquette that would make Emily Post proud. Don't waste the bartenders' talent here by oredering beer or wine, study the extensive drink menu and order a classic cocktail, then sit back and enjoy the show, as the bartenders here take a lot of pride in what they do.

I can only speak for Saturday nights, but unless you're a Japanese teenager willing to wait two hours to get in, forget it.

The wait staff are consummate professionals and bartenders know their business, the ambiance and decor are nice, and their custom cocktails are great. I have come here a few times and have, in the past, been fond of the place. But G-d forbid you should decide to not consume anything for 10 minutes. The wait staff will not leave you alone. As soon as you finish the second-to-last sip of your drink they are pulling it away and hounding you to have another. If you happen to want to take a break from drinking for a few minutes, they will ask you if you want the check. When you decline the check, because you intend to consume more later, another server will harass you for drinks and then act frustrated and ask about the check. Finally, they will rudely slap the check down on your table regardless. I couldn't believe how aggressive they were to me, a paying loyal customer, and this was all within a period of about 10 minutes, not exactly a prolonged loiter by any means. Finally I ordered another drink just to keep them off my back... I doubt I will ever go back to this place and if I do, I will sit there for hours and drink water.

Rarely do I write a review of this type but rarely have I encountered as rude an establishment as Angel Share. They are dismissive, ungracious, and uncourteous. The only advice I can give is DO NOT GO.
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
