Unless Melissa Lafsky is also THE JEDI FOODI E. on yelp.com this profile review from nymag is literally a cut and paste of a yelp review. I've never been to this bar, but it makes me rethink of consulting the nymag reviews of restaurants/bars (unless its PLatt). How can this be a critics pick when the critic has not either 1) been there or 2) make an original review ? very disappointed nymag.

Nowhere Ruder

I have never been treated more rudely than when my husband and I attempted to attend a friend's birthday party this past saturday night at Baddies. We got there past midnight and, at the door, the unfulfilled, dweeby hipster on a powertrip wouldn't even let us find our friends, he just told us "I am not letting you in. That party's list closed at 11" Um, what? We were not, in fact, desperate to go to this bar to validate our coolness - only to show up for our friend's party. it was very: "i enjoy having the power to make you feel tiny and crappy" if that is the sort of thing you look for in a place to spend your money and time in a city full of welcoming, fun bars, be my guest. But after 29 years of living in ny, i do not go out to be treated like that by a twerp on a power trip.
