I just had the most atrocious experience in this place. I ordered a dish where the main food was supposed to be Scottish Salmon but actually tasted more like chalky cardboard that had probably spent the last month or so in their refrigerator uncovered along with soggy blackbread and dryed out cream cheese - this is known as their SSS sandwich - I also ordered a split of Pommery champagne in the pop bottle which was downright sour On top of this we had a nasty waitress who couldn't give us the time of day followed by a berating by the manager who claimed that the waitress complained that we were nasty to her when i made her take back my dish I eat in nice restaurants all the time and, while having been in the business many years ago which makes me more critical than most patrons would be, I don't complain unless there is something extremely wrong. I usually also forgive the food if the service is nice but this place was batting -0-

Yes.... I also arrived the first time because of the toilets. These toilets are different. Great burgers in a cool setting, with a great "dark rum Mojito". One of the most affordable places in SOHO. Go for it.

I love Bar 89 and have to get there at least once a month to get my fix. The burgers are great, so are the BLT, grilled cheese (with bacon) and the Country Cousin sandwich! They have recently expanded their menu to include several pork dishes, but have kept all the old favorites! Service is great and the drinks are supurb. The atmosphere is great, very airy and clean (for what used to be a parking garage)!

I just went there to have a drink and the Martinis are amazing: chocolate, apple, strawberry... they all are wonderful... Don't forget to stop by the bathrooms!

The food is only slightly expensive but it was surprisingly good. I don't drink though.

You'll feel like you have just stepped into a friends cooler than cool loft. Decor is understated and accessible (looks like nice stuff you'd have at home). The food is a wonderful surprize because it's not an uppity palette pleaser. It just well prepared American grill/bar food. Drinks are a heavy burden, but they pack a punch. Perfect for a low key night, but too pricy to go home 3 sheets.

Although this place had cool bathrooms, the only thing that keeps me coming back are the delicious eats. The portobello sandwich was to die for, and the wings are incredible. Be prepared to spend on drinks.
