I used to be a regular here but the bouncer is a homophobe and wouldn't let my flamboyant (not drunk) friend in. I will never party at Beauty Bar again.

The first time we went to Beauty Bar the dance floor was covered in glass by the end of the night. My friend cut her foot on the glass, but the bouncers were very helpful and got out a first aid kit right away. Our second time, we (and others) had to wait over half an hour to close our tab while the bartender posed for pictures and gossipped. So when my friend finally got her tab, she didn't leave a tip. Enraged, the bartender started screaming at my friend asking why she didn't leave a tip. Next she closed my tab, and added in a 20% tip for herself. Is that even legal? My tab was only $24!

I took a group of gals here to kick off a bachelorette party early one Saturday night. We were an eclectic group, ranging in age from 24-50, but everyone had a fabulous time. The cute bartender provided a variety of delicious and strong drinks (everything from a perfectly mixed cosmo to a chivas on the rocks) and the manicurist was fun to chat with-- just like one of the girls (her tip cup recommends a $5 tip, and she deserves it). I didn't expect a decent manicure for the price, but our nails looked great. Afterwards, we posed for pictures in the old-time salon chairs. For a girls' night out or a bachelorette party, this place gets a 10/10...but I figured for everyone else, the gigglin' gals might get tiresome after awhile, which is why I gave it an 8. *** NOTE: I recommend making reservations if you want manicures for a large party. We did and were taken care of as soon as we got to the bar. The larger party of bachelorettes behind us had to wait until we were done. ***
