It looks like the place was an old luncheonette. the stools are attached to the bar (well, most of them) and they are low to the ground. I stumbled in on a Tuesday night around 11pm and there was this long haired guy playing acoustic guitar and singing. It was so cool. The songs were definitely drenched in the 60's but he said they were original and they were damn good. I mean this guy can rock out. There wasn't even a sound system; he just kinda walked around a bit and had to lift his guitar when someone had to pass by to get to the bathroom. His name was Tim Young.

am a huge fan of the late 70s-early 80s punk/hard rock/heavy metal movement...before it became saturated.bellevue's jukebox is the best i've seen-no better place to get maximum drunk for minimum cost with the hottest bartenders and best music. no exclusions...everyone from angry old men to 21 yr old club kids to bikers to artists and beyond...jimmy duff the owner has his hearse parked out front-this place is original AND irreverant; only heavy metal bar i know of in manhattan.must be seen to be believed.

Frat boys and Upper east side girls need not apply. Bellevue is one of the last non-gentrified bars. Jukebox is one of the best in the city and the vibe rocks.

This place is way too loud, bad bathrooms and even bad porn showing on the TVs. Not a place for a date or a conversation.
