Good place to talk and hang out for drinks. More of a lounge than a restaurant. Dimly lit and cozy couches. I prefer coming during happy hour for the $5 margaritas. The backyard is amazing in the summer...wish it was heated for the winter.

I had read an unfavorable review and truthfully was a bit Leary. But after a friend had recommended Belmont to me I decided to check it out. That unfavorable review couldnt have been further from the truth! I am so glad I decided to check it out myself! I joined 4 of my girlfriends for an early evening cocktail. We had ordered apps to share as well. The food was excellent! My girls and I ended up staying till quite late. Since that time I have come back multiple times and each experience was enjoyable. I would totally recommend everyone to check out Belmont. It for sure is a hidden gem =)

I once overheard that phrase to describe a bar in Dublin, and I think it suits here as well. The website makes it look like it's a cool East Village watering hole. In reality, though, it's an overpriced dump with dicey bathrooms and indifferent service. Three blocks away is Cibar, an awesome lounge with delicious bar food. Do yourself a favor and head there.

STOPPED BY FOR DRINKS TO MEET FRIENDS. BARTENDERS WERE RUDE AND DRINKING/PARTYING MORE THAN THEIR PATRONS. THE PLACE WASN'T EVEN CROWDED AND THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE. BATHROOM WAS SO DIRTY. OVERALL JUST A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND I WILL NOT BE BACK.

Came to NYC w/ my husband for our 15th wedding anniversary. We met in union square 18 yrs. ago and were walking around 15th st. when we saw Belmont Lounge. We ended up celebrating our anniversary there. Very nice place! A new memory for us!

I love coming here after work for happy hr. & bar food. The drinks are cheap, and the music is pretty good; it's always a mixture! Good location too! Highly recommend coming here if you're in the Union Square area.

Great place to go with friends if you're looking for a nice, cheap bar in union square! Everyday starting at 4 p.m. Belmont Lounge has a 3-hour happy hour with drinks for $4 or less. Also, Wednesdays are ladies night so most drinks are $5 and they make them hangover style (very strong). I highly recommend checking this place out- it's worth the 4 bucks.

Ive been to Belmont Lounge before, and remeberring the ambiance of the place, i thought it would be perfect for my date. so I suggested to go there. What a great suggestion. We had an amazing time! we were able to reserve a couch in the back, ordered some of their great wine, and their fantastic cheese plate, all the while listenning to their loungy music... there were a lot of ppl there, but it didnt seem overwhelming at all. the place is obviously managed well, and their wait staff is supperb!!! highly recommend this shy, cozy lounge.

Belmont Lounge in fact was a last resort for me due to some bad review that I read about it in the pass. But having to cancel my reservation due to the high cost of a table we ended up at Belmont lounge, and got a table for so much cheaper than we would have previously spent. Great atmosphere, great ambiance, and most of all management was very understandable and made our night one to remember. I'll go back again and recommend everyone to do the same.
