This place always a mildew smell, probably from the damp swags of fabric everywhere intended to look "eclectic". My Hubby purchased a Groupon to dine here, which they refused to honor before its expiration date, blaming ignorance of it and the manager wasn't there. We tried to return on 3/30/13 after reconfirming with Groupon it was definitely valid. By this time the promotional value was expired, but it stated right on the website that the paid value would never expire. The manager WAS there this time and again REFUSED TO HONOR the paid value. He tried to convince us that we needed to pay for the meal there and Groupon would reimburse...yeah, right. After we told him that it had already been confirmed by Groupon, he told us that there was no way to verify it was legitimate. Um, the certificate number is right on the certificate? He just needs to give it to Groupon? He next tried to tell us that since the promotion expired, he deleted all the certificate numbers... and how is that OUR problem? He told us that he would offer us 20% discount on the restaurant in exchange. Um, no, we had ALREADY PAID money, and now expect to redeem the funds we paid. He claimed that Groupon didn't give any money so therefore we didn't... If this is how they treat customers, I can't imagine how bad or dangerous (they were "missing" their Health Grade on the window) the food is.

I reluctantly decided to order take out after the previous time i ordered and it was missing an item. This time i ordered penne with grilled chicken and broccoli. I was extremely clear with the woman who took my order and repeated myself 4 times. Still My order came with no grilled chicken. When i called back the woman blamed it on the chef and said they would send out a new order. When the food came they requested i give them back the order without the chicken(very tacky..what are they going to do eat it?) Then when i finally sat down to eat my simple meal it was disgusting!! I hated every bite but was was forced to eat it what I could ..out of frustration and hunger. The pasta was over cooked and the chicken was not up to par. They charged $19 for this meal. I will never eat from this place again.

Great pannini, good soup. They even make good lattes. And deserts are good too.

Intricately placed in a unique neighborhood, this has to be one of my favorite spots to dine and wine in NYC. Small, but the service is unbelievable, food equally excellent, and the atmosphere is out of this world. Amazing place to take a date!
