Boxcar has become one of my favorite bars over the past couple of years. It's a great, laidback spot where my friends and I know we can always find a good crowd. Also highly recommend for parties and events, as we've had a few here.

I've been going to Boxcar for a while and have to say it's my favorite spot to meet up with friends and have a few drinks. The happy hour is hard to beat and whether sitting in the garden or in the bar, its a great atmosphere. For those who are looking to avoid the crowds of "b&t" kids, this spot always has a good mix of people.

I really did not like this bar. I found the service extremely poor and the demeanor very unwelcoming. The man behind the bar would be better suited delivering mail as a disgruntled postal worker than serving drinks to people looking to mellow out after a long days work. Plenty of bars in NYC. I'd avoid this one.

i guess the bartender is a douchebag ALL the time? i went there on a wednesday, a night when a bartender should be appreciative of people spending $, but oh, that was just not the case on this particular wednesday night- the treatment my friends and i received was so ridiculous that i thought it was an early april fool's joke- there are too many options in the neighborhood to waste your time at a place like this- happy hour, shmappy hour, walk a block and go somewhere else- id like to leave a flaming bag of poo on the bartender's face, oops, i mean doorstep...if i could give a score lower than 1 i would...

I recently had a birthday gathering at the Boxcar and I would highly suggest it to anyone. The few of us smokers left could go outside to the garden to have a cigarette. And while we started off in the back the heat pushed us inside, where it was intimate enough for everyone to mingle and chat and yet not feel crowded. Their happy hour is also terrific for anyone like myself who is strapped for cash and know that their friends are as well. All in all it was the perfect place to have a party of about 15 to 20 and all without having to go through the trouble of renting out the space.

I've been going to Boxcar since it opened and it's a great place for it's patio, happy hour, good bartenders and excellent music! I highly recommend it. The clientele and vibe is cool.
