I dined at Brickyard Gastropub last night, and the experience far exceeded all my expectations (which were already very high, given great reviews on Yelp, NY mag, menupages etc). I can't remember any other time in my six years in NYC where I was treated so well. Service was warm, friendly, and just beyond compare. Both I and my boyfriend felt so pampered. One of the owners went around making sure everyone was having a good time, and he seemed to know a lot of regulars. My boyfriend is a beer drinker and he said his drink was one of the best beers he has ever had (in 38 years!). I prefer cider to beer, and I have to say that the cider they served me nearly sent me into a state of nirvana - my tastebuds can still feel the thrill! And the food....ah the food! We loved the steak as well as the innovative take on soba noodles, and also liked the veggie spring rolls starter and apple galete dessert. It was a truly memorable experience - so much so that I felt it was worth finally opening an NY Mag account and taking the time to review the place (I'm a foodie and have helped my friends with recommendations for years, but nothing pushed me over the edge to start writing on NY Mag until my meal at the inviting and indulgent Brickyard Gastropub). Do check it out!

Perfect

Could not have had a better time. Went for an early dinner on a Friday night. Got there about 5:30 and we were seated in the back. The service was first rate (although it could have been helped by the fact that we were the only ones back there). Western Burger was perfectly cooked and the sweet potato fries were great. Sat at the bar for a drink after dinner an the service was very good despite a now crowded bar. A local crowd, not a tourist in the place, though if I was showing someone NY this would definitely be a stop.
