Don't go hthere. Here's why:

Bouncers are rude. We had a reservation and we were told that people from our party had to call us in order to get in. By the bouncers. But the manager said that since we had provided a list of people all they had to do was mention the name of the party and get in. Total confusion, they don't know their arse from their head. Drinks are overpriced even for Manhattan. Service is slow, and if some people fro your party leave money on the table before leaving and you look away for one second the servers will promptly appropriate it and then proceed charge you the whole amount when you leave. Atmosphere is very poor, and the crowd is mainly bridge and tunnel. There's no point coming here if you are a tourist and want to get a taste of NY. Head to the East Village instead. Locals avoid this like the plague. I can't believe we made the mistake of going here!
Terrible Staff, Terrible Policies, Terrible Everything!!!!!!

We had a birthday party at this place recently. My friend had called twice in advance and management had told us that we didn't need to make reservations & that everyone would be able to get in. When we got there, an obnoxious lady told our friend "absolutely no one from your party will be guaranteed entry unless you make a reservation". We were forced to make a split second decision. They offered us 2 choices - bottle service for $300 or reach a drink minimum of $300. We took the latter. That was fine - we figured we would reach the minimum anyway. Despite how beautiful the place is, the service is AWFUL. Our waitress was completely MIA, our friends were able to get in without telling the bouncers whose party they were with, the drinks have maybe 1% alcohol and are expensive. Also, we had left a tip slightly above 15%. We later found out that the person who had charged the bill to their card was charged 20%. The waitress had altered the tip amount despite the awful service we had received! NEVER EVER have a party here! This had to be one of my worst experiences in NYC.

The person at the Door dresses in weird getups not fit for a Hotel Bar and on top of it, feels free to discriminate against people of color. This used to be a more relaxed place but now looks like it is begging for a lawsuit.
You'll need to pay them $350 to sit after 9 pm

Anything good about this place gets cancelled out because unless you pay for bottle service ($350 plus tax and tip), not only will you not be able to sit down anywhere, but if you're ALREADY sitting and have JUST ORDERED drinks (we asked waiter for a non-reserved table to avoid moving later) they will force you to leave your seats immediately. As the kind waiter told us "bottle service rules, you have to leave now" and the kind security henchman then told us "you pay for the drink, not the space" - which is an interesting point of argument, Mr. Owners of the Maritime Bar and other "bottle service" bars, the reason I'm paying your 700% markup on the beer you won't give me 5 minutes to gulp down, rather than drink a $1 beer on my couch is because I am willing to pay your 700% markup FOR THE SPACE. Also consider - when your lovely "bottle service" morons (and bimbos who love vodka BWLV) follow each other to the next hot spot (which they will eventually), you'll have to rely on the little people to pay you - which we wish you the best of luck.
