As a visitor from England I sought a little something different away from the normal Manhattan bright lights. Having had almost entirely good experiences in Tapas Bars around Europe I went in for a drink to check out the place. It was heaving last Thursday evening with business poeple. Most had left by the time a small band started to set up with a more casually dressed clientele now filling the bar. Great music and atmosphere accompanied some excellent food and having noted an advert at the bar a Comedy Night I called again Saturday evening. If you want spotless, spick and span this is not the place but if you prefer a cosy place with great atmosphere I can recommend. Also, compared to the other bars/restaurants I eat at over 5 days in NY the value-for-money is hard beat.

Granted, not a luxury restaurant, but the food is the antidote to bland It is just bursting with flavor! The Owner Guillermo cooks with fresh ingredients, stone and grill. He has a lot of pride in his food and the love for cooking comes out in the flavor which is not only flavorful but unique tasting. I currently live in Westchester and eat there whenever I get the chance to come into the city. I have become hooked to his skirt steak who's recipe he guards very carefully. I, like many of his Regulars find myself craving this food that doesn't taste like anyone's else's right now...like finding a hidden and unassuming gem...MMMM!
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
