why did it close?

The Cajun is a wonderful jazz bar,the food is great and the music makes it taste even better. With a month seperating my visits to the Cajun i showed up on a friday night to find the metal gates closed. I called the following day to find the phone disconnected.Can someone please enlighten me as to why they closed?

the only thing that makes me miss the south

i grew up in new orleans and moved to new york at 15. this is the closest thing that yaknees have to a ood jazz bar. it's even better that the vieux carre because there are no scarey voodoo women. i fell in love there and it will always have a place in my heart and stomach

Forget fusion, try cajun jazz

A group of us wandered into Cajun after shopping the Union Square market on Saturday. We had a great time. The food was good--spicy cajun. The roast pork was actually tender. The jambalya was authentic. Of course, the best thing was great old-time jazz that you could enjoy without it being so amplified that you had a headache when you stumbled out of the restaurant. The owners, Herb and Arlene, were very much in evidence making sure the service was up to snuff. In fact, Herb sat with us and told us stories about his 40 some years in the business. He even bought us a drink. Try it!!!
