Quite Possibly

Yes, I would go back!

My favorite bar in NYC. Wonderful vibe where everyman is a squire and every woman a lady. They make a simple glass of ginger ale seem like a champagne toast. Great music, wonderful service and mmmm-Martinis!!

Overpriced, mediochre cocktails, and horrible food

No, I would not go back!

I went to Carnegie Club last night before seeing a concert at Carnegie Hall and thought I'd splurge on some overpriced cocktails and maybe even a cigar. I don't know about you, but when I pay $16 for a martini, I expect it to be a good one. It was not. The spiced sangria was nothing special. We ordered a quesadilla, which was bland, almost cheeseless, and full of turkey (who puts turkey in quesadilla?). By far the nail in the coffin came when we received the sliders we ordered. They literally came on those cheap potato buns you buy in giant sheets at the supermarket. Inside the bun was about a one inch square piece of thinly sliced beef. It was shocking. We sent it back and requested the check. So for $60 we got two bad drinks and a terrible quesadilla. I would not go back. And even the ambiance of the place felt gimmicky and was compromised by a giant TV playing sports and lots of cheap looking signs about football games. I think if people wanted to go to a sports bar they'd pick one with cheaper drinks and decent bar food. My two cents.

great entertainment

Yes, I would go back!

Stopped into Carnegie Club last night and was wowed by their Friday night entertainer: singer pianist Barrett Taylor. We were treated to a non-stop dazzling show of standards, Broadway hits, you name it. Plus, three guest singers joined him as well, all excellent pros. The place was packed with an enthusiastic audience -so make a reservation. Far as I'm concerned, you miss this guy and you're really missing something! No cover or minimum...all for the price of a couple of drinks. Musically, maybe the best buy in town!

Time of my life

Yes, I would go back!

Our goal going into NYC was to find a place to smoke a cigar. We felt like we hit a goldmine here...very relaxed atmosphere, and friendly staff. A little pricey, but gotta expect that in NYC. We had the best time here, stayed for almost 4 hours!

Amazing

Yes, I would go back!

This is an awesome little cigar lounge. More and more, they are becoming rarities in a city that is anti-smoking. We grabbed a couple cigars from De La Concha on Ave of Americas which is a block away and enjoyed the ambiance of this bar. It is stylized like an old 1940s bar and is very warm. The patrons were extremely friendly to us.

Classic - go back in time

Yes, I would go back!

I lived right down the street form this place an it took my brother visiting from Buffalo to get me to check it out - you know how that goes. It turned out to be a real nice find - a gem. I have always been a Sinatra fan and because of my age - I never had the opportunity to see him perform live. My perception of how he played small clubs is pretty much what I found at the Carnegie Club. The 11 piece band did a nice job of cranking out the music - while the singer did a wonderful job not only singing those old tune but telling interesting Sinatra stories in between songs. Yes, it was a little too smoky from the cigars - Yes it was hard to see the "stage" and yes it was a little too crowded but I just gotta believe that's what some of his shows were like. It was all that and great! We had a really good time and hope to return again real soon. Ova-Nee

Delightful Evening

Yes, I would go back!

I work on the block and wish I had known about this place long ago. I was introduced by an associate after work on a Friday and returned the next night with my wife to see tha Sinatra show. What an amazing evening. This place is like going back in time. The waitresses are all dressed in black and pearls and attend quickly to every request. The drinks are a amazing, and where else will you find a big band in a bar with Sinatra. I am not much of a cigar smoker but the staff was very good with recomendations. Don't walk run to the Carnegie Club, I will be back.

TERRIBLE

No, I would not go back!

My date and I had the worst time there. The service was slow (and we had drinks spilled on us), the bar was over-crowded, and there was a bad smell there. Also, the bathrooms were filthy. I will definitely never return.
