After seeing the Herbaceaous Mojito on food network's "Best thing i ever ate" i had to go. I was not disappointed. My 2 friends and i had several different kinds of drinks and each one was excellent. I loved the mojito until i had the Yellow Fever, which is now the best drink IVE ever had. little spicy, sweet, and delicious! The food was good too. not AMAZING, but above average. I would highly reccomend trying the different drinks there.

YUMMY garbage plate - the hots are the real thing - the story is that the owner's dad's own hot sauce is used and it's a fine spicy concoction. I probably didn't need to add gratuitous Tabasco// The drinks are fantastic - there's something with gin and egg whites - refreshing and tasty and you want to drink 10 of them// Service was great - perhaps because we all sat down and I couldn't contain myself and yelled - I want a hot dog!! with the response being are you guys from Rochester? Say yes or I went to school nearby// See, people? You need to have an angle! and they'll treat you like gold - and the waitstaff are impossibly tall behemoths of men. Like, All of of Them. It's almost freakish. Not exactly hot-hot, but something to ogle out of curiosity and say, hmm.// (mixed) Drinks - delish (on tap, not exciting)// The garbage plate - fabulous// Hots (dogs) - drool worthy - if you don't know the Rochester hot dog, you should get up on in there and introduce yourself// And... it IS a very decent bathroom for a joint w the kind of foodstuffs being served secondary to boozestuffs

I brought a friend here, telling him Daddy-O had fantastic drinks. We spent about an hour here, and the drinks were great. On the way out, however, I tried to go to the bathroom and the owner blocked my way and said that the bathroom was for customers only. I explained that I was a customer and the bartender told him the same, but he claimed that I wasn't and that I could not use the bathroom. (Apparently, he is so concerned about non-customers using his bathroom that he'll refuse service to anyone slightly suspected of not being a customer even if his own bartenders explain to him that he is incorrect.) This owner does not deserve to be in business.

THE Best Burger, by far, in all of NYC! The "Zweigel" Hots are mouthwateringly DELICIOUS-so much better than Sabrets or any other brand! Try them, & you'll really flip! I brought my boss here & he was floored & has been bringing others here ever since! The Daddy-O "Wings" are way better flavoured than others in the city. The original recipe originated in Western NYS & these cool Rochester NY (a city of hot Jazz & hot wings!) Dudes know their Wing Business better than anybody!!!!! Bon Apetit!

I've been to Donovan's in Queens, Paul's Burgers in the East Village, and I have to say, Daddy-O's has the best burgers in the city. Plus you get awesome tater tots! I never write these reviews, but when I saw all the negatives, the only conclusion I could draw was that some local competitor was trying to sabotage the place and I had to try to alleviate the damage. A glass of wine is a bit pricey, but otherwise food, service, atmosphere is outstanding. Don't believe the haters.

I got excited when I learned of a new hot-spot burger joint in the West Village. This place definately should not be caterized with WV's reputable restaurant list. Although pleasant to the eye, be prepared to eat yesterday's food. Perhaps expectations ride high for this premium burger, but basic fundamentals behind working the grill are definately missing. I would never return.

There is a bald bartender with a goatee that was completely out of line when I attempted to go to this bar. I went to the bathroom before ordering a drink and he got in my face and started yelling at me telling me I needed to order a drink, at which point I replied that I no longer wanted to order one. He then POINTED A FLASHLIGHT IN MY FACE AND GRABBED ME BY THE ARM TO KICK ME OUT! I am a cute litte girl, and in no way asked for this behavior. In no way do I recommend this bar1

Daddy-O has absolutely the best chicken sandwich and tater tots I've ever had. My boyfriend and I go pretty much every Sunday, and though it's hard to not order that sandwich miracle, recently we've branched out to the chicken tacos and the spaghetti and meatballs. It's all unreal. It's cozy, delicious and the guys who work there are the nicest. Considering the quality of the food (all the ingredients come from stores in the village) and how nice it is to be there, it's the perfect place, and is on my top five list for sure.

One lazy Sunday while wandering the Village we stumbled across Daddy-O. The corner window seat not only allowed us to view the the world ramble by but gave us a chance to study the fully stocked and well presented bar. Service was five star and the breakfast was good size and excellent quality. We believed that Daddy-O would remain our secret to be visited when looking for that lazy, uncluttered escape, but really we can't stop talking about the experience. Do yourself a favour, take the trip and enjoy.

sure its more a bar than a restaurant, but if louis is in the kitchen and you order the daddy-o burger, you'll be eating the best burger in manhattan. period. i got your corner bistro, right here, buddy.
