I called this place in advance to ask questions for my birthday and nothing they said was true. They said they play all types of music and we heard house music all night. We were told it would change but by midnight the music hadn't. The manager said the dj was playing a cd that couldn't be skipped but what dj plays one cd of the same music over and over again and cant change the songs. We couldn't get into the inside area until 10, where it was cool, so we were stuck sweating on the terrace. I had two guestlists for after work and night but anyone who showed up after 10 were turned away at the door. We werent told that another event was being held on the same day and they were going to be cattered to and we weren't. Otherwise, it would have been a nice place and I would have enjoyed my birthday. The manager finally offered us a free round of drinks, but we left. The happy hour drinks were the only positive thing. Where else can you get $6 Mojitos.

I'm not much of a club person, and I especially don't go to the Times Square area to chill but some friends dragged me to Eden for their Thursday after work event. Surprisingly, I had a great time. The door people were really cool (ego-tripping doormen are mainly why I don't go to clubs), no waiting in line and best of all, no cover. The drinks cost a little more than what I pay when I hang downtown, but I expected that. Also, It wasn't disgustingly crowded either (yet another reason why I don't go to clubs). The crowd was a good looking mix of people and after people had a few drinks in them, they started to cut loose and dance, which was fun. I've only been that one time so I can't tell you about the other nights and I never went to it's former incarnation, China Club, but for an early after work Thursday, I had a good time and would definitely go back.

I've heard this is a good place for after work. Maybe it is. But come 12 or 1, it's a mess: (1) $20 cover (no one lets you know until you've already waited in line to get in). (2) Very crowded, with a very crowded bar. (3) $50 minimum to start a tab (!) and a gratuity is included (particularly large in light of the snarky service). (4) I came in with a group of mostly female friends. When we all sat down and ordered a bottle, a bouncer came over and made the guys get up and leave. I've never been in a club before that wouldn't let you sit with the group you came in with. (5) The view was terrible -- large apartment buildings only. The one positive is that the music is slightly better than at other rooftop bars. Maybe this mess was a symptom of the bar being in Times Sq. (I've been to rooftop bars and clubs in the Flatiron and Meatpacking districts), but I would never come here again. Ugh.
