Great neighborhood place

I must dissent with the previous two posters regarding Excelsior. I have been coming to the bar for years, although far less frequently than I once did. The great thing about Excelsior is that is a neighborhood gay bar. It allows gays, lesbians and their straight friends to meet and mingle in an atmosphere without the blasting music of places like G or the seedy drug-scene of other locations that shall remain nameless but well-known. The bartenders are terrific. If they are shown an ounce of courtesy and respect, they return both many times over. In short, Excelsior provides gays and lesbians a place that straight people have always had: a friendly location to socialize, drink, and enjoy themselves.
