This is Manhattan. You have options. Faces and Names is among (if not) the best of them. The atmosphere is fantastic (especially in the back room - fireplace, plush couches, tabletops, etc.), the drinks are diverse and well prepared (excellent wine, beer, and cocktail selections), the food is well above what you would expect from an establishment that doesn't refer to itself as a restaurant (the baby burgers and pretzels are highly recommended), and the music always strikes the just the right chord (pun intended). In the winter months there's a coat check downstairs, there are nights when a DJ spins, and they offer various tastings at reasonable prices (get on the mailing list and sometimes you'll get invited to free tastings)! The staff is also top-notch. If you want to name drop, the GM is Al... Lisa is the bubbly, spunky waitress that everyone loves (Hell Yeah!)... and Rory is the lovable bartender up front. (Your mileage may vary on trying to hobnob with the staff, as they don't all work all the time every day... even the most amazing people need to rest and recharge). Whether you're with a date, business colleagues, friends, or have the need to grab a quick drink and or bite solo - you absolutely can't go wrong at Faces and Names (and no - I don't work there). :) ENJOY!

Best of New York: Fun & Nightlife
Picnics with a view, roller-skating nostalgia, and a party for gay headbangers.
