Shake-a-Tail Feather

Leaving Moe's and no where near ready to go home. Cross the way and over the moon I heard the vibes of house music seeping from Franks. It was a no-brainier. The crowd was cool. Older generation down-stairs cold chillin with drinks and the more active getting it in upstairs. I thoroughly enjoyed the Frank experience. Reminds me of southern fervor. I say, "Go and shake a tail-feather!"

a good night out

Frank's Lounge, or as we call it the local ocal you know a place to go that's right in the hood or very close by, has alway been a spot to go get your drink on, your dance on, and if you so choose your one night only on. In the past it had a seedy, infamous, and bar room brawl air about it-self but still i was there. Today the establishment has grown to a place where you still can get your drink on, your dance on, and if you choose your one night stand on. The Dancing Poet

Dance till you drop!

Once you hit the dance floor, you'll never get off! The walls literally sweat with the dancer's energy. Some amazing regulars, both upstairs and down. I love the contrast between the old timers downstairs and they Ft. Greene young'uns upstairs. Dynamic! Fun!!

Definitely a Vintage Gem Not to be Missed

This is a really cool place! It’s definitely vintage, but in a great way. A real gem! For the longest time I didn’t even know its name because I referred to it as “The Underground Motown.” Old Frank still hangs out and it’s a mixed funky crowd of older locals (think Rudy Ray Moore/Dolemite) and younger 20s/30s newbies in the neighborhood. Frank also brings in some great musicians, like Saxophonist/Vocalist Lonnie Youngblood (yep, the one who Jimmy Hendrix did his first recordings with).
