stop hating on johnny

Yes, I would go back!

im at gold every night. you people obviously didnt get in. that room is always fun and good looking. euro-trash and guys in rugbys are different things...so which one is it? johnny is in a rock band and hes a rocker....not a bum...theres always a million models in there.... cmon people everyone knows the word on the street. except you apparantly. i stick up for gold bar. i have yet to have a boring night or bad experience there...the bartenders and staff are all excellent...they treat me like family

EURO-TRASHHHH

No, I would not go back!

I had heard that GoldBar had gotten REALLY bad. Apparently word around town is that the place is full of "Eurotrash," and has lost it's glimmer. So I went to see and decide for myself. Sat. nite. Not a soul in line to get in. Door opens. 5 men in striped rugby shirts/Old Navy polos walk out for cigs. Not one remotely attractive. Wow. Never before have I seen such beautiful women get turned away by such an UGLY, strung-out, dirty-looking, Williamsburg-hipster-wannabe, doorman (Johnny), while unattractive, rugby-shirt-wearing Irish guys stand outside picking their noses and smoking cigs and head back inside. I am not sure if the owner is aware that one after another gorgeous NYC females are rejected by this tool that looks like he hasn't bathed in weeks. I thought I was watching Candid Camera. It was almost laughable. Apparently this doorman "Johnny" only wants heinous and sloppy, ugly people like himself in this club. How he got that job is purely shocking, but it has ruined my image of what GoldBar was supposed to be, and I will never be back.

policy and rude door policy

Yes, I would go back!

ive been in the bar,lounge night club industry over 25 years..not only as a dj but also as a promoter and vip section of many a-lists clubs in ny, nj area.. i have never seen mishandling and mistreatment of people at gold bar. not only was person at door rude, obnoxious and a liar.. making up the assumption tht members only were allowed entrance to their swank club, but thisone particular door person or vip lists person was dressed like a slob, bum in a t-shirt , hat and sneakers as potential model-like women were denied access ...itsa shame such a swank club would have such a loser working their front door..

No, I would not go back!

"Marie Claire" rated The Gold Bar "sexiest" bar. I'm curious to know who gets in? During a ten year modeling career, I've been to clubs in Tokyo, Paris, London, Monaco, and Hong Kong. Never had a problem "getting in". What's the key to the entrance to this club. Oh, nevermind, I don't think I want to go afterall.

Yes, I would go back!

I understand they want to keep it exclusive by not allowing people to take picture of the interesting decoration but when I party, I like to take pictures...Cool music. The place is not so big.

Yes, I would go back!

Very gold new hot spot!!! I really like it. Chic, good service, beautiful staff, exellent drinks. Italian gold style with a touch of james bond... Perfect for a expansive drink at midnight.Very something! From very difficoult to impossible to get in. You must be somebody or be very, but very, cool. No wannabes.
